“95% Pass rate. Excellence continues”
Pupils at Scarisbrick Hall School are celebrating a stunning set of GCSE results across all of their subjects. Despite the new GCSE reforms, including the removal of coursework elements from the majority of subjects, pupils at the school have thrived on these new, more challenging examinations.
The overall pass rate was more than 95% at GCSE level, making this the fourth year in a row that the school has exceeded this milestone. Almost half of all of the grades were at the equivalent of A*/A (9-7) and nearly 70% of the grades were A* - B with outstanding individual achievements.
Rebecca Lindley achieved highly in all ten of her subjects at A*/A and four grade 9’s. Amelia Collict also had the plethora of A*/A grades with 5 subjects at grade 9. Harry Simpson received an exceptional set of results again nearly all at A*/A. Benn McIntosh was also delighted with his grades and has achieved highly across all of his subjects.
Subject specific results were again exceptional with some of the new specifications such as History gaining 64% A*/A, Biology and Chemistry results were 50% A* (9/8), as was Business Studies. The school also continues their impressive record of 100% pass rates in GCSE English with Mathematics close behind at 97%. Overall more than 11 subjects had 100% pass rates.

I am equally pleased to see the majority of you have exceeded target grades, achieving high value-added scores. I am confident that the academic, co-curricular and moral education received at Scarisbrick Hall School has prepared you well for your future!”

25/8/17: Many congratulations to our record breaking cohort of 2017. The GCSE results this year are the highest in recent history with strong achievement across all of the academic subjects. 1/9/16: Students and staff at Scarisbrick Hall School in Ormskirk are celebrating a record year of examination results. With an overall pass rate of 94% and 100% pass rates in 13 different GCSE subjects, staff and students are rightfully delighted. It also seems that the stunning new Science Faculty building has inspired students to achieve great heights in Science subjects with 73% A*/A across Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 100% pass rate across these Sciences.
28/8/15: Students at Scarisbrick Hall School celebrated an excellent set of results with 97% achieving 5A*-C. and an overall pass rate of 94%. Thirteen different subjects achieved a 100% pass rate (A* -C), including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Art, Music and Statistics.

21/8/14: Students at Scarisbrick Hall are celebrating today after an excellent set of GCSE results. Despite a ‘volatile’ set of results nationally and locally, Scarisbrick Hall has maintained a consistently high standard of academic achievement.
The overall pass rate (grades A* – C) was 94% with over 40% of students receiving A*/A grades. Mr Shaw, the Headmaster, is delighted: “What is really special about these results is that they have been achieved by such a fantastic group of young people. I really do believe that high quality staff, motivated learners and an ethos that cares for each individual student, has enabled our students to reach and exceed their potential in their GCSE examinations. “
The school can also boast 100% pass rates in nine different GCSE subjects including: Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English Literature. The results top an excellent year for the school that has included a National Award for Excellence from the Independent Schools Association.
